Here at GloHealth we were delighted to sponsor and attend the GloHealth Senior Indoor Championships at the AIT International Arena on the 21st & 22nd of February. The weekend was a great success with many new records and PBs set. The weekend had the added excitement of athletes striving to achieve qualification for the European Indoor Championships in Prague.
Day 1 kicked off with a new stadium record as Ian Rogers and David Donegan both jumped 4.80m in the Pole Vault, tying for first place. Maria McCambridge took the women’s 3,000m title, which was her first indoor title since 2004. John Travers also gave a strong run securing victory in the men’s 1500m.
Day 2 did not disappoint as Kelly Proper made history by bringing her number of Indoor titles to nineteen after winning the 60m, 200m and Long Jump. Although there were many exciting races over the weekend, the breakthrough performance was by Dara Kervick who won the men’s 400m title in 46.80 seconds securing him a place at the European Indoor Championships.
Not only was the weekend full of high adrenaline action, supporters and athletes enjoyed taking pictures at the #GloHealthPhotoFinish and entering our competition for the chance to win some great prizes.
If you missed the action you can watch the highlights from the weekend on the RTE player http://www.rte.ie/player/ie/show/10379115/.
